Aubrey's First Lost Tooth

Yesterday Aubrey lost her first tooth.  She was eating a fruit roll-up for snack and just said, "Hey, it's my tooth!"  I'm so thankful that it wasn't painful, it makes the prospect of losing more teeth pleasant.  I'm also thankful that it came out now.  Her permanent tooth was coming in behind her baby tooth and I didn't want this to be a problem.  My dentist reassured me that the permanent tooth will just move up, but I was worried since I just called her and she hadn't actually seen it, so I had Dawn (our orthodontist friend) look at it and she reassured me again.  Oh how mothers worry!  Thankfully for nothing.

It's hard to see the hole since her permanent tooth is already in.

Painting

Lately I've been trying to do a few things with the kids to keep them entertained, or maybe better said, to give them some structure so they don't get themselves into trouble.  So one day last week I got out the paints and stencils and let them go to town.  I even gave Lauren a little paper and poured some paint on it.  She loves to eat things, and you guessed it, she ended up with a pink mouth.  I guess that's why we have non-toxic paint.  She did love it and mostly used it to finger paint.

Welcome Lilly Nicole!

My sister Shannon had her baby on Monday. They had a girl, Lilly Nicole. She was 7lb 10oz and 19 in. We got to see her last night, and of course she is adorable! Lauren did a great job with her, she was very gentle and it was funny to see her notice Lilly's pacifier.
I had to laugh because in our family we have an Ashlyn and an Aubrey who are about 1 year apart and we always confuse their names. Now we have round 2, this time with L names, Lauren and Lilly!
I'm excited because I will be watching Lilly a few days a week when Shannon goes back to work, so we'll get to know her very well. Congrats Shannon and Scotty!

Bonfire

Last night we went to my parent's for a bonfire. It was a little chilly, but that's where the fire came in handy. The kids loved being outside. Aubrey and Cameron rode their bikes, and loved showing off without training wheels for everyone. Cameron was in heaven because he was outside, finding sticks and freely roaming.

Lauren and Scotty playing ball.

Cameron loves to be the center of attention, actually I think all my kids do, but here he is "pontificating" as Ryan said. I don't even remember what he was saying, but he had all of our attention.

Lauren and Grandpa

At the end of the evening Ryan took the kids for a ride in the back of the pickup. Cameron was pointing out to everyone the farms that he owned and where his brothers lived. His imagination is so hilarious! He came back and told me all about it and how when he grows up to be Amish, he will have 169 milk cows and will drink the milk from all of them! Oh the life he is going to have!

Two Wheelers

We got Aubrey a new bike and took the training wheels off her old one. On Friday night she wanted to try it without the training wheels, and what do you know, she took off! Then on Saturday, she did it again. Today she was at it again. Her only problem is starting, but we'll work on that. Cameron wanted to try too, of course, and he took off as well. Not as steady as Aubrey, but very well considering he's only 4. He doesn't know how to start, or stop. Today he did use his brakes, but only after much coaxing. Sorry, no pictures, too busy holding the bike. You'll just have to believe it's true!
