7 years old

Cameron turned seven today! He wanted doughnuts for breakfast, of course so he got his wish. He also wanted to invite friends over for his birthday party. I asked him what he wanted to do, and he said just play. I have to say it was one of the easiest parties ever! We did have a Lego building contest before supper and they all seemed to get into it and they created some really neat creations! Pizza was the supper of choice and then more playing afterwards. Ryan did go down and play his version of dodge ball with them. Ryan throws the ball to get the boys out. It is a safe version of the game and one that Ryan really enjoys!

Not sure why he's studying the candle so much

Anticipation!

For his family party he didn't have a specific request for the cake, so we printed out a Iowa logo to put on the sheet cake.

Is he excited for the remote control truck?

Valentine's Twins

So I've been thinking about how Lauren resembles Aubrey, not necessarily how Aubrey looks now, but how she looked at Lauren's age. It's funny how that can happen when I put Lauren in clothes that Aubrey used to wear. Emily actually brought it to my attention a few weeks ago when she was looking through old pictures and found one of Aubrey that looks like Lauren. Anyway, for Valentine's Day I dressed Lauren in the same shirt that Aubrey wore for Valentine's Day and I did her hair the same way too. Here are the results!

Chop Sticks

Ryan and I are taking a class called Perspectives on the World Christian Movement (which is fantastic by the way) so the kids are in childcare for that time. They get to learn about different cultures and countries around the world. One week they learned about China and got to bring chopsticks home. So the next night I made fried rice and they got to practice using them. They did a good job and actually got food to their mouthes with the chopsticks, but we all reverted back to silverware after awhile. I have to admit that since a lesson from my friend Karen during our time in California, I could actually pick up food with chopsticks-a first for me!

Such concentration

Notice the fork waiting by patiently

 The excitement builds

 Victory!!!
