First day at Heritage

This day has been years in the making. We didn't know for sure when it would come, or where the kids would be going to school, but our plans always included sending them to school some day. They have been looking forward to this day since March when we found out that they got a spot at Heritage. They have great friends there and already knew a lot about the school. Ryan and I were very excited that they got spots because we really feel that it's a great blessing to have Christian educators come along side us in teaching them truth in education. We are so thankful for our years of homeschooling and wouldn't trade them for the world. It is exciting to be on the new phase of our journey now.

Aubrey is in 3rd grade and has Miss Lounsborough as her teacher. The first day she was so excited that she got up early and could hardly wait for school to start. She barely hugged us and went right into the room as if she'd always been doing it.

Cameron is in 2nd grade and has Miss Early as his teacher. He was excited for school to start, but on the way there I could see that he was a little nervous. His desk is in the front corner of the room, so it was a little overwhelming on the first day when the parents and kids were all filing in and out of the room right in front of him. He did well and when I came in to pick them up, he ran down the hall and jumped into my arms! It brought tears to my eyes, in a good way; I was glad he missed me. He does love it and has adjusted well.

Lauren is at home with me still and even though she is a little lonely, she is doing well. We are keeping busy with all sorts of projects and errands.
