Florida

We got to spend five wonderful, sunny days in Florida visiting Ryan's family and relaxing on the beach. Leaving Cedar Rapids took some time since there were mechanical issues with the plane. Thankfully we got homework finished and ran around the terminal then finally took off around the time we were originally supposed to land in Tampa. Once we were there we got into our comfy beds at Dave and Miriam's and slept well. Cameron was up early and made a quick friend with Dave. I have to say we were definitely spoiled but their hospitality and felt very loved and welcomed!

Friday was a beach day; the weather was warm and and it was the perfect day to relax and enjoy the sun and water. Friday night we had a meal with all of Ryan's Florida family. Saturday we spent part of the day at Edna's and then went to the nursing home to see Great Grandpa Hershberger. The kids had fun meeting him again (it's been a few years since they've seen him). The kids learned to play Florida golf as well. Sunday we slept in and Ryan and Dave took the kids to the Wild Cat Habitat where they got to see lions, tigers and bears! Monday we went to John and Sally's and got to ride their trike, then we went to the beach again. In the evening we got to celebrate Paul and Malinda's 30th anniversary. Tuesday was our last day and we went to brunch with the Saflys since they were in Sarasota too. We had a great time and were glad to be back home for Thanksgiving, but had a shock since the weather had turned bitterly cold while we were gone.
