We went to St. Louis this weekend for our "summer" vacation. It has been put off all summer, but it was good timing because the weather was great! We knew we wanted to do the zoo and the children's museum because they are both free, but we weren't sure what else we would do. Of course Saturday the kids were up bright and early and we got started on our day. We did the zoo first. It looked like it might rain, but there were only a few sprinkles. The kids liked it all, but especially loved the bears and the penguins. Aubrey was so funny because she didn't want to get out of the stroller very much (I think she's kind-of afraid of the animals getting out). She did discover how to spell zoo. She's so proud and even tried to teach Cameron how to spell it!
After the zoo we went to the City Museum. It was so cool! I didn't like the outdoor climbing area because I'm scared of heights, but the kids liked it. It's great for adults and older kids, but we still enjoyed it. The whole museum has tunnels and cool things to investigate. Everything is made from an unconventional building product like surgeon's trays, gears, men's ties, etc.
Then today we went to the Magic House, the children's museum in St. Louis. It got some award as the best attraction for children in the U.S. We agree! This place is so cool. We could have spent more time there if it wasn't way past lunch and getting close to nap time. The kids had lots of fun, and so did we. They have interesting facts posted all over the walls. This one caught my attention and explains most of my days.

I am laughing out loud at that last photo!!! Wow, that explains a LOT!! I think I have an above average 4 year old though. I am someimes so exhausted from it I tell her that I am too tired to listen to her anymore and could I just have a one minute break?!? Looks like so much fun. I am sad we didn't get to explore St. Louis more when we were there or nearer to there. Maybe some day!
