Lauren's 1st Birthday Party

Yesterday was the big day, our baby's 1st birthday party. She had no idea what was going on, but she loved every minute of it and cheesed for everyone. She loved her cake and ate the whole piece. Our first two kids barely touched theirs on their first birthday, but she knows good chocolate cake when she sees it! I made the cake, it's a carousel. It was super easy and I think turned out cute.

She could hardly wait to get her cake. She wanted to grab the whole thing, but I wanted to serve it, so I held it back from her.

Opening her presents was a lot of fun. She enjoyed it and was thrilled at each new thing. My parents gave her a baby doll and she wouldn't hug it, which is weird. First I took off the blanket, but that didn't help. Then I took off the headband and she immediately took the baby and hugged it, who knew?

Ryan's parents gave her a cute rocking chair. She loves it and can even get it to rock a little on her own. Pictures of that to come later.
